The Surf Life Saving Rescue Fund Trust ("Trust") was established in 2002 with the aim of being a central body within Surf Life Saving to facilitate the secure and effective financial investment of pooled funds on behalf of approved Surf Life Saving bodies.
The Surf Life Saving Foundation Inc. ("Foundation") is the Trustee of the Trust and utilises a professional Investment Manager and an Independent Investment Committee to facilitate the effective management of Trust funds. The Foundation does not take any fees and the key investment objective of the Trust is to adopt appropriate conservative investment strategies that maximise investment returns at an acceptable level of risk that will ensure the adequate protection of the capital value of the portfolio.
Funds within the trust are held in two forms within the Trust, either in "Perpetuity", where they are held by the Trustee on behalf of a Surf Life Saving body in an account that is intended to remain in the Trust in perpetuity with earnings distributed back to Surf Life Saving, or "Withdrawable" where funds are placed into the Trust directly by the Surf Life Saving body with either a short, medium or long term investment horizon.

- Stephen Maitland OAM, RFD, BEc, MBus, LLM, FAICD, FCPA, FCIS, FAIM, FFin, the Principal of Delphin Associates, a Brisbane-based corporate advisory firm
- Neil Balnaves AO, Founder and Trustee of the Balnaves Foundation
