Surf Life Saving South Australia
Our volunteer Surf Lifesavers have an incredible impact on Australian beaches every year by providing a safe environment for Australians to enjoy the beaches and waterways around the country.
Here are some extraordinary statistics last summer in South Australia alone as well as other fundraising events happening around the state.
- 272 lifesaving rescues made
- 782 first aid treatment administered
- 15,806 preventative actions taken to avoid tragedies from happening in the first place

Boardies Day 2012
Need an excuse to ditch the suit and tie for work? On Friday 24th February you can do just that, as Surf Life Saving SA (SLSSA) encourages all of South Australia to participate in Boardies Day 2012.
The idea is simple:
- Ditch your usual corporate wear/uniform for the day
- Pull on your favourite board shorts or beach gear
- Rock up to work/school and make a donation to SLSSA
