Channel Nine Surf Safe Appeal

This year, Surf Life Saving Queensland is calling on all Queenslanders to get behind the red and yellow army of volunteer surf lifesavers during the Channel Nine Surf Safe Appeal. The Surf Safe Appeal is the largest annual fundraising initiative for SLSQ and is pivotal in ensuring that volunteer surf lifesavers have the necessary equipment, training and resources to continue safeguarding our state’s beaches.

Supported by Channel Nine the appeal will run from 19 November through to 2 December, giving all Queenslanders a chance to show their appreciation for the efforts of volunteer surf lifesavers across the state.

Last year alone, Queensland’s volunteer surf lifesavers spent more than 335,000 hours on patrol, performing 346,000 preventative actions and, most importantly, saving some 2,866 lives in the process.
