Samantha and Dominic and their two children, Charley and Josie, were spending a perfect day at South Beach in Dunbogan, when the girls were suddenly caught in a rip. Samantha and Dominic immediately ran to help. Dominic managed to pull Josie out of the rip, but Samantha and Charley were being overpowered.
Samantha just managed to push Charley to safety as she felt herself being sucked under. Another family had arrived on shore and seeing the danger, immediately dialed 000 for aid.
Tony Worton and Phil Travers of the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club were both notified of the emergency. Within 15 minutes, they were in their Inflatable Rescue Boat, charging into the surf. As soon as they spotted Samantha, they sped to her rescue and plucked her from the sea.
Tony and Phil fought through pounding waves to deliver her to the awaiting Surf team, the ambulance, and anxious family members. Samantha was returned to her family thanks to her amazing rescuers, Tony and Phil, and the rest of the volunteer Surf Lifesavers.help others like Samantha and her family
