AFR True Leader and Vogue Game Changer appointed to SLSF Board

AFR True Leader and Vogue Game Changer appointed to SLSF Board

Romilly Madew is the Surf Life Saving Foundation (SLSF) Board’s most recent appointee.

She is one of Australia’s most cutting-edge female leaders, as well as President and Patrol Captain of Bilgola Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

The Green Building Council of Australia’s CEO has a tremendous amount of innovative corporate expertise to share with a cause that’s incredibly close to her heart.

This year, the woman who represents over 650 companies with a collective annual turnover of $40 billion, was named among both the Australian Financial Reviews’ True Leaders, and Vogue Australia’s 2018 Game Changers.

Head of the Surf Life Saving Foundation, Melanie Wilson, said the immense value of having corporate front-runner Romilly Madew on the SLSF Board was amplified by her first-hand experience as a volunteer surf lifesaver.

“What Romilly brings to SLSF is a remarkable capacity to support the challenge we face in adequately equipping our volunteer surf life savers on the frontline of Australian beaches,” Ms Wilson says.

“She knows too well how crucial it is for SLSF to continue growing the financial support available to our clubs.”

Ms Wilson said that among the practical contributions Ms Madew will bring to SLSF is her:

  • wealth of property insights which can set our Prize Home Lottery apart from our competitors
  •  capacity to create a connection in people’s minds between the SLSF and the frontline surf lifesaving movement
  • extensive network which can connect us to a raft of innovative experts with the possibility of brilliant new partnerships.

“We are very excited to welcome Romilly to our Board, and I’m looking forward to learning from her extensive experience,” Ms Wilson says.

“Her deep understanding and personal connection to our frontline lifesaving services will be of enormous benefit.

“It will help the SLSF team, customers and amazing donors to get closer to the work our volunteers do every day to keep us safe on the beach.”

Ms Wilson said SLSF was looking forward to the stewardship and expertise Ms Madew would bring with her as support for growing the funds we distribute across the surf lifesaving movement each year.
