Start with Beach Passport - Learn the basics of beach safety
Surf Life Saving Australia created Beach Passport to help everyone better understand how to stay safe at the beach. In just a short online course, you'll learn how to identify hazards like rip currents, udnerstand safe swimming practices, and build confidence in the surf.
Beach Passport is FREE and designed for anyone who loves the beach.
It's a simply way to start your journey with Surf Life Saving and play a role in making our beaches safer.
Join Nippers
Introduce children to surf safety and confidence in the water.
Nippers is Surf Life Saving's junior program for children aged 5-13. Through fun beach activities, kids learn valuable skills including surf awareness, and teamwork.
Delivered by trained volunteers through local Surf Life Saving clubs, Nippers helps the next generation build confidence in the ocean while learning how to stay safe at the beach.

You can support lifesaving in many ways. Not all volunteers patrol the beach. Surf Life Saving clubs rely on people who help with youth programs, events, training, fundraising and administration.

Volunteer surf lifesavers are at the heart of Surf Life Saving. Through nationally recognised training, including the Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion, members gain the skills needed to patrol beaches and respond to emergencies.
